Erectile Dysfunction Treatments

Erectile dysfunction, also known as impotence, is a common problem for many men. It can affect self-esteem, lead to stress and impede sexual intercourse.

If you have ED, seek help from a doctor right away. Your doctor will diagnose the cause and suggest treatment options that work best for you.

Oral Medication

A man can get erections by taking oral medication like sildenafil (Viagra) or tadalafil (Cialis). These drugs increase blood flow to the penis, improving the amount of chemicals that produce an erection.

However, these pills work best when taken 30 minutes before sexual activity and should not be taken more than once a day. They may also help improve urinary problems caused by an enlarged prostate.

There are also other options for men who don't want to take a pill, including vacuum erectile dysfunction devices and ED rings that use constriction to maintain an erection. These options are often safe and reliable for many couples.

Oral erectile dysfunction medications should not be used in combination with alpha-blockers, which treat high blood pressure or prostate problems. These medications can cause dangerously low blood pressure. They also can interact with nitrates, such as nitroglycerin, which are used to relieve chest pain.

Penile Injections

Penile injections are an erectile dysfunction treatment that can work well when oral medications don't work for you. This method is fairly painless and involves the injection of medication directly into the penis.

Medications that can be used as a penile injection include papaverine (an anti-swelling agent), phentolamine and alprostadil. These medicines dilate arteries in the penis, allowing blood to flow.

A few side effects can occur from shabab awar ke fayde, such as a small bruise or hematoma that may develop at the site of the injection over time. Rarely, scarring or a hardened area called plaque may develop in the penis as a result of repeated injections.

In rare cases, the medication may produce priapism, which is a painful, prolonged erection that doesn't go away after ejaculation. If priapism persists for more than four hours, seek medical assistance. Ice packs, phenylephrine decongestants and exercise can help reduce priapism.

Vacuum Erection Devices

Vacuum erection devices are a non-invasive treatment for men with erectile dysfunction (ED). They can be used to improve penile length, firmness, and size.

To use a VED, apply a small amount of water-soluble personal lubricant (such as K-Y Jelly) to the penis and around the opening at the base of the VED. Never use petroleum jelly (such as Vaseline) as this could damage the device.

Place the tube over the entire penis and pull the air out of the tube using a pump. This creates a vacuum, which draws blood into the penis to cause an erection.

A constriction band is then slipped around the base of the penis to maintain the erection during intercourse. These bands should not be left on for more than 30 minutes to prevent bruising or discoloration. It is important to use the largest ring possible, as this will provide the best results and help maintain an erection for long periods of time.

Muse

MUSE (alprostadil) is an erectile dysfunction treatment that works by extending the blood vessels in your penis. It is a medicated suppository that you insert into your urethra. It is absorbed into your system and then begins working to widen your penile arteries, which allows for more blood flow to the spongy tissue in your penis called corpora cavernosa.

It is important to understand that you should not insert more than two suppositories in a 24 hour period. Dose titration should be done only under medical supervision.

Muse is contraindicated in patients with abnormal penile anatomy including narrow urethra (urethral strictures), abnormal curvature, Peyronie's disease, or abnormal location of the urethral opening. Also, it can worsen penile abnormalities in men with severe hypospadias or a penile implant.

Muse may also interact with mardana kamzori ka gharelu ilaj, such as antihypertensive drugs and blood thinners. These medications can lower your blood pressure, which can cause serious side effects like dizziness or fainting spells.
